Job Description
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts (vendor agreements, client contracts, partnership deals).
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure the organization complies with local and international laws, industry regulations, and internal policies.
- Dispute Resolution: Handle litigation, arbitration, and settlement negotiations; liaise with external counsel when necessary.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and propose strategies to mitigate them.
- Research & Documentation: Conduct legal research, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records of legal documents.
- Corporate Governance: Support board meetings, draft resolutions, and ensure adherence to corporate governance standards
- Disciplinary Process Management:
- Draft and issue Notice to Explain (NTE) to employees in cases of alleged violations or misconduct.
- Review employee responses to NTE and assess validity of explanations.
- Prepare and issue Notice of Decision (NOD) based on management’s resolution, ensuring due process is observed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of disciplinary proceedings.
- Qualifications :
Education: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD);licensed attorney (BAR eligibility) is a plus.
Experience: Typically 2–5 years of relevant legal practice, preferably in corporate or financial institutions.
